Automobiles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Officers reported they were notified by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police say they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.

The substance had been placed in the form of a swastika, they added.

Officers then located multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police report preliminary tests indicate the substance was likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the public for tips.

A high-ranking official commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and had to be solved rapidly.

"This act hits the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on online, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on residents of migrant background in February 2020.
